Time flying by Swiftly

The days and months seem to be flying so quickly that I am not able to keep up with all that is passing by on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

It has been several years since I have sat down to write a note to “you”, that being of course, anyone who would stumble upon my blog.  Seems to me that Facebook has taken over the “blogging” activity of many. Be that as it is, blogging is a way of remembering thoughts, actions and life.

We no longer live in Brasil as we are retired.  I shall look up that word one day to see what the true definition is, as it is not clear.  How does a person “retire” from gospel work?  Not sure that is possible, but I believe it takes on a different meaning in our lives.

No longer is it necessary to be “at the office at 8:00 AM each day to begin the days activities with the staff.  No longer is it necessary to get someone to fill our place when we must be away. No longer do we have to answer for our “business at hand” to the superiors.  Now, we just share with Jesus what we do and pray it is acceptable by the Lord.

Being retired is a great time of life if one is well and has a tiny amount of funds to pay the bills, buy the groceries and do some extra things once in awhile.  We will probably never take a cruise or go to Israel, but we can dream and that does not cost much money. The Ocean is not far from home. The mountains are even closer. The forest is close by, the trees are everywhere. Retired is a good word and we are enjoying doing what we want to do and giving no one any reasons for anything we did or did not do.

  1. Hi Linda, I’ve just dropped by to take a look at your blog. It’s good to get to know you better through the things you’ve shared here. These words find an echoing ‘Amen’ in my heart: “The trials of life have come into our lives many times and we have failed God many times, yet HE still shows HIS grace to us in so many ways.” May you and your husband have a rich retirement together in all the best God-given ways. As Christ followers we never really retire, do we? While there is life and breath we are on active service for the Lord, although what that looks like will be different for each one of us. God bless you as you rest in Him. 🙂 x
